Areal Postmortem
Well, here's my game.
I can't say for sure what genre it belongs to, it was rather an experiment.
It was an experiment with text, graphics (or rather its absence), gameplay and script.
It all started when I reviewed the film by Andrey Tarkovsky's Stalker. I didn't want to repeat the story of the film exactly, especially since there are already many games with similar themes.
On the contrary, I decided to focus on the very thought of the film, on its psychology.
In doing so, I immediately began to remember my favorite writers like Kafka.
In the end, I made a fatal mistake. The history has grown to unreal scale. It would take me six months to finish the game on time.
So I decided to finish the project at the stage where it is now.
It was planned to add a survival system .
The character had to experience hunger, cold and all other attributes of survival.
However, I managed to add the Paranometer, one of the main features of the game.
I should have paid less attention to the dialogues and concentrated more on the gameplay, then, I'm sure, people would have been more interested in playing my game.
The music was written pretty quickly, it's a pleasure to work with the ambient, different noises, and the game was designed for this.
Although the game did not come out as I originally conceived it, I still hope that people will be able to see the concept that I laid in it and feel the mysterious world that I tried to build.
